Chic and breezy summer style: new editorial with teen model Tèa Elbaz

Here’s a look at my new juniors summer fashion and beauty editorial with Tèa Elbaz. Strong eyebrows, turquoise eyeliner in a cat-eye swoop, fuchsia matte lips,  stripes, pops of color and vivid florals all make for easy summer style.  Accessorize with bold pieces such as a cute lips purse and a lady-like statement necklace, mixed with florals and stripes, for a style update.  Frame your face with bold eyebrows and pull hair back or up to show them off.Stripes are loud and proud this year so go big.  Crochet crop tops and lace shorts are breezy and cool for summer.  Mix patterns and colors, prints and florals, like with this sporty rash guard and skinny jeans.  Let hair be natural with ponytails and skinny braids, and have fun with colorful makeup with like Tèa’s turquoise eye liner and matte deep pink lips.  Metallic belts amp up the style of simple t-shirt dresses.  Jean shorts and chambray shirts are summer essentials:  dress them up with graphic short-sleeve pullovers, floral sneakers and a chic chain strap bag.  Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean style takes a vacation!

Nautique Classique: Stripes are here to stay

I admit I am completely addicted to breton stripes and am afraid to count just how many striped items I have in my wardrobe.  I have tops, sweaters, button-down shirts, espadrilles, bikinis, shorts, and even pajamas.  Red and white, aquamarine and white, navy and white, black and white, enough to make me dizzy as if staring at a test pattern for too long.   They are my  go-to “uniform” and I always seem to find something new to add to the mix.  Stripes can be worn with florals, checks, solids, color-blocking, to work or play.  Young and old, regardless of sex, there are stripes for everyone in a multitude of styles and at all price points.   From the very french unisex fisherman’s sweater to the mod 60’s body-con dresses, this classic favorite is one of the top trends year after year, season after season.   If you are a little timid about actually wearing stripes, play with accessories from belts, to bags, iPad covers, to wallets, to give a graphic pop to your outfit.

My favorite brands that always have stripes in one form or another are J Crew, Gap and ASOS. These particular striped treats can all be found at J Crew for summer, where you can also find rash guards, passport covers, tank tops, dresses, graphic tees, and new color combinations.  Vive les stripes!

Contrasts – stripes mixed with dots and eclectic jewelry give a new twist to basics, punctuated with bright red lip color – nothing classic about this!
